My sister makes the best trifles. Hands down, cannot compete with. Yet, I used to try and live up to those expectations. I used to try to at least make up for the lack of trifles in our celebratory lives while we were miles apart. But this year I didn't even dust off the trifle bowl. I went straight for the red, white, and blue french macaroons.
Now, these didn't quite turn out as I would have hoped, but it is not even 8 am on 7/4 and they are almost all gone.

I've never been one to eat the same thing two days in a row. I have to get creative with leftovers. Yet, I have eaten these oats three days in a row! Love them, and its even more awesome to just grab it out of the fridge and go in the morning since I'm usually running late.
I know there has been contention with whether or not oatmeal is gluten free, and as long its labeled so I'm going to go with it. We haven't seen any adverse reactions in our house so we're good for now. Last weekend we bought a bag of cherries. They sat in the fridge all week untouched. I knew they wouldn’t last much longer in the crisper, so I had to do something with them. With the fourth of July coming up, it only seemed fitting to make a cherry pie.
We make green smoothies a lot and have been for years. It all started with a Kale and Banana vegan smoothie that I started making regularly when we lived in Montana. However, I developed an intolerance for bananas so I no longer smoothie with bananas which can be limiting on my smoothie production. But that doesn’t stop me from trying and the taste from exploding.
